prairie chic

12.10.2015

We squeezed this maternity session in and I'm so glad Mamma Kristen will never regret skipping the chance. We used the shabby feel of the prairie along with the vintage lace to coordinate with the chic decor of Baby K's nursery. These images of her gorgeous mamma will fit perfectly in her room I'm sure. Big brothers came for a few shots as well!

cutie pies

11.20.2015

Are these two not the most adorable little cutie pies?! They are the daughters of my high school bestie. It's amazing to see her beautiful little miniatures. These were some of my favorite images from this session. I love their outfits, and I picked this location based the colors and textures. (be sure and scroll down to see the last before/after image)
This is a little peek into one of the many things I do. I loved this location, the light, the texture of the walls...but there were these hideous purple hand prints all over the walls. And little G, wasn't quite stable enough to sit on that old box without some help from mama. So, here's a peek at the before image, straight out of camera, compared to the finished image.

blessings

3.19.2015

Just a couple of days before Christmas, I had an opportunity. An opportunity unlike any other. For several years I have wanted to photograph a birth, but the opportunity just had not made itself known. I didn't ever necessarily have a professional goal to add this to my 'portfolio'. I've just always been (or at least since the birth of my own children) drawn to the desire to at least get to experience this from behind the lens.
The birth of my first child was.....well, I'm not sure how to describe it without going into great detail. It was significant and left more than just the physical scars on my body. Beneath the euphoria of having such a huge blessing added to our family, it also left a mar of grief on my soul.
I had no idea the impact that this opportunity could or would have on those scars. It was moving. It was a blessing. It was healing. It was the balm that my wounds had been craving. And for that I will always be grateful. Thank you Garrett and Jennifer for letting me be a part of your blessing.

newly born color

6.11.2014

There's just something about newborn images that I love in black and white. He's such a handsome little man! Check out his mama's beauty bump session here
